Purposes

• Respond to enquiries submitted through the contact form
• Prepare an initial professional conversation
• Moderate and publish approved comments
• Record likes without creating a visitor account
• Measure article readership without identifying readers
• Protect the website and its forms
• Measure website traffic when the visitor has given consent

Contact form

Information submitted through the form is used only to understand your enquiry, reply to you and prepare a possible professional conversation. It is never sold.

Contact messages are retained for no more than three years after the last exchange.

Comments and likes

Comments are stored with the display name, email address and text entered. They remain hidden until approved. The email address is used only for moderation and is never published or shared with third parties.

Pending or rejected comments are deleted after 90 days. Approved comments are kept while the article and discussion remain published.

A like uses a random identifier stored in a strictly functional cookie for one year. The identifier is stored as a hash and is used only to prevent repeated votes from the same browser.

Audience measurement and cookies

An article view is counted after five seconds of visible reading, once per article during the browsing session. The website also measures, in stages, how long the article remains visible in order to produce aggregated statistics by article, day and hour.

A technical hash derived from a random session identifier is used only to avoid duplicate counts during progressive reporting. It is deleted after 48 hours. No IP address or identifier capable of recognising the reader is retained with this internal measurement.

The website may use Google Analytics only when the visitor accepts audience measurement. Without consent, the Google Analytics script is not loaded.

The consent choice, light or dark theme preference and functional identifier associated with likes may be stored locally in the browser.

Technical logs

The application does not define a specific retention period for server logs. Technical logs may nevertheless be processed by the server or hosting provider to ensure security, technical administration and proper operation of the service.
